Insulated wires refer to wires that conduct current. They are mainly used for power transmission, information and electromagnetic energy conversion, and are widely used in the power industry. Do users know what are the main components of insulated wires?
Insulated wires are composed of one or several soft wires with a light and soft protective layer; cables are composed of one or several insulated wires, which are covered with a tough outer layer made of metal or rubber. Cables and wires are generally composed of three components: core wire, insulating sheath and protective sheath.
(1) Conductor
The conductor is the conductive part of the wire and cable, used to transmit electric energy, and is the main part of the wire and cable.
(2) Insulation layer
The insulating layer is to electrically isolate the conductor from the ground and the conductors of different phases from each other to ensure the transmission of electric energy. It is an indispensable part of the wire and cable structure.
(3) Shielding layer
Wires and cables of 15KV and above generally have conductor shielding layer and insulating shielding layer.
(4) Protective layer
The role of the protective layer is to protect the wires and cables from the intrusion of external impurities and moisture, and to prevent the power cables from being directly damaged by external forces.
